Poing is located about 20 kilometers east of the state capital of Munich in the Ebersberg district. In recent years, Poing has changed from a purely agricultural place to a modern, up-and-coming community with around 15,000 inhabitants and a remarkable commercial area. Poing is known nationally because of the Poing construction center in the Grub district, Bavaria's largest prefabricated house exhibition. The proximity to the state capital, the Riem trade fair and Munich Airport as well as the convenient transport connections make Poing an extremely popular place to live.
